Born: 1929 in Jaffa.
Education:
Graduated from St. Joseph's School with a high school diploma in the literary section and French language in 1945.
Earned a diploma in Advanced Studies in French Literature from the Jesuit College in Beirut in 1952.
Career:
Engaged in national student activism.
Volunteered at the Juvenile Protection Center in Damascus from 1952 to 1955.
Managed the UNRWA Basic Education Center in Gaza from 1955 to 1957.
Founded the pioneering Dar Al-Hanan Nursery in Kuwait in 1963.
Established Dar Al-Hanan Private School, which included elementary, middle, and secondary sections, in 1964.
Joined Fatah in 1965 and became a member of the Revolutionary Council in 1985.
Co-founded the General Union of Palestinian Women in 1967 and has served as its Secretary-General since 1985.
Member of the Palestinian National Council since 1969 and the Central Council of the PLO since 1972.
Representation and Leadership:
Chaired and participated in numerous national, Arab, regional, and international conferences, representing Palestine in political, educational, humanitarian, and women's and children's rights issues.
Previous Positions:
Secretary-General of the General Union of Palestinian Women.
Member of the Revolutionary Council of Fatah.
Member of the Central Council of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO).
Deputy Secretary-General of the General Arab Women’s Union.
Member of the Executive Board of the World Democratic Union.
