Born on March 2, 1952 in the Russian capital, Moscow.
Russian diplomat and member of the Moscow State Institute of International Relations.
Special Envoy of the Russian President for the Middle East and Africa, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia.
Mikhail Bogdanov served as a Soviet ambassador to South Yemen, Lebanon, Syria, and Egypt from 1974 to 1994, as well as a representative to the Arab League from 2005 to 2011, and held various diplomatic positions.
He received the Medal of Al-Quds in 2014, which is one of the highest Palestinian decorations awarded by the Palestinian President.
He is also Vice President of the Imperial Orthodox Palestine Society.
He also holds the Order of National Merit in Russia, fourth class.
He was awarded the Russian Order of Friendship and the Russian Medal of Honor.
Honorary Board of Trustees member of the Yasser Arafat Foundation since 2018.
