The Palestine Economic Policy Research Institute (MAS) was founded in Jerusalem in 1994 as an independent non-profit institution whose objective is to conduct economic and social policy research to contribute to a knowledge-based decision-making and policy-making processes.  The Institute, which was founded 15 years ago, has been committed since its inception to independence, academic neutrality and a persistent quest for advancing the quality of social and economic research and analysis.  The Institute is characterized with a growing role in social and economic development in Palestine. 

 

Throughout its history, the Institute has completed about 180 studies in social and economic areas, addressing national priorities and abiding by scientific independence and high professionalism.  The Institute issues a quarterly publication, The Monitor, in which it reports on about 200 social and economic indicators.  Being dedicated to principles of governance, the Institute is committed to the periodicity of the membership of its board of trustees and executive management, and to the principles of transparency and equal employment opportunity.  The Institute includes a specialized library that contains 9000 books and reference publications.  Decision-makers, researchers and university students benefit from the Institute’s activities.
