Beita: a Palestinian town located 13 km southeast of Nablus. It is called by this name because it was known as a safe haven for all who lived there. Beita was an ancient rest stop for pilgrims.
The town of Beita has become a model for unique popular resistance against colonial settlement. Its sons and daughters invent new methods of struggle, always surprising the antagonist. Its people have participated in all of the Palestinian revolutions since the 1920s and have given more than fifty martyrs from among their sons.
And when the call of duty beckons, men and women, young and old, without exception, work with the order and discipline of a beehive, under the banner of Palestine – first and last.
Its persevering people maintain a bond of steadfastness and resistance and, because they are the rightful owners, do not retreat, no matter how great the sacrifices … they know that they will triumph.
