In partnership with Ramallah Youth Club, Yasser Arafat Foundation received more than 50 Palestinian children from Gaza, Jerusalem, Bethlehem and Tulkarem to participate in a three-day summer camp held in Ramallah.  It was organized by the Educational Guidance Center and Higher Council for Youth and Sports.

The summer camp entailed a host of field activities that included visits to the Ramallah Municipality, Mahmoud Darwish Museum, Rawabi City and Yasser Arafat’s Mausoleum. The visit to Yasser Arafat’s Space included a short lecture on the history of the place as well as on Yasser Arafat’s true legacy and unrelenting journey under Israeli occupation.
The camp featured other outdoor activities such as hiking to Ein Kenia so children can enjoy and commune with nature.  During the hike, representatives of the Palestinian Preventive Security Service provided lunch meals for the children.

At the end of the second day, art activities took place as children enjoyed a folkloric evening at the Ramallah Recreational Complex.
In the last day, entertaining activities were organized and included swimming, a trip to a local amusement park (Sky Land), and a farewell party organized by Ramallah Youth Club.

Apart from these activities, Dr. Ahmad Soboh, Director General of YAF, noted that the summer camp aimed to bring Palestinian children together and to continue Yasser Arafat’s journey of maintaining a national unity.

In addition, Dr. Ahmad Soboh expressed his gratitude to all the organizations and local parties that contributed to the success of the camp including the Preventive Security Service and the Palestinian National Security Forces.
