The Board of Directors of the Yasser Arafat Foundation held its sixty-first meeting today, Tuesday, September 24, 2024, chaired by Dr. Ahmed Soboh, with the participation of Dr. Mamdouh Al-Abadi, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, and other board members.
At the beginning of the meeting, a moment of silence was observed, followed by the recitation of Al-Fatiha in honor of the founding president Yasser Arafat, and the souls of the martyrs in Gaza, the West Bank, and Lebanon. The board expressed solidarity with the heroic prisoners enduring brutal treatment.
The board also addressed the ongoing massacres, killings, destruction, and starvation in Gaza, the escalation in the West Bank, the attacks by settlers on schools and roads, and the repeated assaults on medical and journalistic teams with American weaponry and support. Additionally, the board condemned the brutal aggression against brotherly Lebanon, which has resulted in the deaths of hundreds of innocent people, expanding the war of extermination to encompass the entire region.
The board approved a work plan for the next three years after an extensive discussion. It adopted a program to commemorate the twentieth anniversary of the martyrdom of founding president Yasser Arafat.
The board reviewed the progress of the foundation and its programs, discussing various related issues and making decisions accordingly. The amended internal regulations were also approved based on the decision made by the Board of Trustees in its last meeting.
