Al-Rama Coeducational Secondary School from Qabatiya Directorate won first place in the 2024/2025 National Knowledge Competition during the final round held on May 18, 2025, in Ramallah.
The event, attended by key figures from the Yasser Arafat Foundation, the Palestinian Ministry of Education, and the Omani Ambassador to Palestine, highlighted the importance of national awareness and educational resilience amid ongoing challenges.
Asira Al-Qibliya Girls’ Secondary School (South Nablus) and the Sisters of Saint Joseph Mixed School (Nablus) took second and third places, respectively.
In his opening remarks, Dr. Soboh welcomed the audience and paid tribute to the martyrs of Gaza and the West Bank, who fell as a result of the ongoing brutal genocide by the Israeli occupation against Gaza and all of Palestine. He wished freedom for the prisoners and a speedy recovery for the wounded.
Dr. Ahmed Soboh, Chairman of the Yasser Arafat Foundation, emphasized the competition's role in reinforcing Palestinian national identity and preserving the legacy of the national struggle, while also noting the absence of Gaza students for the second year due to the continued genocide committed by Israeli occupation, which has destroyed essential infrastructure and educational institutions such as schools, kindergartens, universities, and educational facilities. He announced the Foundation’s plans to expand the initiative to universities to further engage Palestinian youth.
Dr. Ayyoub Alyan from the Ministry of Education reaffirmed the ministry’s dedication to educational continuity, especially for Gaza students, and praised the efforts of all participants. The ceremony concluded with prizes awarded to the top three teams, including laptops, iPads, tablets, and cash rewards.
