The Yasser Arafat Foundation Board held its 59th meeting on Thursday, August 1, 2024. The meeting was in person by board members residing in the homeland and via video call by those abroad. It was chaired by the board member appointed to oversee the foundation's operations, Eng. Musa Hadid, with participation from the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Dr. Mamdouh Al-Abadi, his deputy Dalaal Salama, the General Director of the foundation, and the Director of the Yasser Arafat Museum.
At the start of the meeting, there was a moment of silence and recitation of Al-Fatiha in honor of the founding president Yasser Arafat, and the martyrs in Gaza and the West Bank, while also sending greetings to the heroic prisoners and wishing a speedy recovery to the wounded.
The board discussed various issues related to the foundation's work amidst the ongoing devastation faced by the people in Gaza and the West Bank, particularly focusing on the aggression that began in October.
The board reviewed the foundation's activities, events, programs, and the status of the museum. It approved the financial and administrative reports submitted.
The board also ratified the preparations for the 15th meeting of the Board of Trustees, scheduled for Saturday, August 3, 2024, at the Yasser Arafat Museum. In conclusion, the board emphasized the necessity of national unity to achieve the people's aspirations, resist occupation, and rebuild with God's will.
