Yasser Arafat Foundation, represented by the Board of Trustees and the Foundation's Management and Administration, mourns the death of Dr. Abd al-Salam al-Majali, the late former Prime Minister of Jordan, who passed away on Tuesday evening, 3/1/2023, in Amman, Jordan.
She expresses her heartfelt sorrow and grief on behalf of his family and the brotherly Jordanian people. We pray to the Almighty God to cover him with the breadth of his mercy, to dwell him in his extensive gardens, and to inspire patience, solace, and good condolences in his family.

In 1925, he was born in the Jordanian city of Karak. In 1949, he received a bachelor's degree in medicine from Syrian University, and in 1953, he received a diploma in Otolaryngology from the Royal College of Surgeons and the Royal College of British Physicians.
In 2014, he received an honorary doctorate from the University of Ankara in Turkey, as well as an honorary doctorate from the University of Jordan.
Former Jordanian Prime Minister who served in a variety of capacities, including General Physician in the Jordanian Arab Army, Physician, Otorhinolaryngologist in the Jordanian Arab Army's main hospital, Commander of the main military hospital, Director of the Royal Medical Services, Professor at the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Jordan, President of the University of Jordan, and Head of the Jordanian delegation to the Arab-Israeli peace talks. At various times, he served as the Minister of Health, the Minister of Health and the Minister of State for the Prime Minister's Affairs, the Minister of Education, the Minister of State for the Prime Minister's Affairs, the Prime Minister, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Defense, the Prime Minister and the Minister of Defense.
