On the 3rd of July 2022, a book announcement symposium was held by the FATH Mobilization and Organization Commission At Al- Muntada Hall, in the Yasser Arafat Museum in Ramallah, during which Abdel-Ghani Salama, a writer, and researcher presented his book "Fatah from the Tunnel of Eilaboun to the Horizons of Freedom... A critical Reading and Assessment of its life experience".
According to the researcher Abdel-Ghani Salama, the book which is divided into two main parts describes in a critical and analytical style the revolutionary struggle of FATH movement. The first part describes its doctrine, revolutionary theory, its philosophy, principles, objectives, and points of departure. The second part outlines the lessons learned yet provides a critical overview of the most important historical junctures that the movement went through.
Abdel Muneim Hamdan, Deputy Commissioner of the Mobilization and Recruitment department stressed that the Movement represents all the Palestinian people, and early on since its inception, it gave prime importance to culture, poetry, prose, and literature. He noted that most of our writers, intellectuals, and poets as well as Arab thinkers have affiliated themselves with the FATH movement and the Palestinian Revolution noting that the movement promoted education as it built schools in Beirut, Tunisia, and Eastern Europe. In parallel, it helped and assisted thousands of Palestinian students to pursue their higher education in the most prominent educational Institutes worldwide.
Ahmad Soboh, Director General of The Yasser Arafat Foundation stated that the book boasts a panoramic view that shall motivate every Palestinian to reflect upon to evaluate the entire history of the movement. Dr. Subuh explained that the first bullet was a moment of revolutionary manifestation but did not necessarily mark the start of the revolution which was preceded by two preliminary and consolidatory conventions. Through its struggle, the movement has gone through several consecutive stages in Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, and North Africa until its return to the Homeland.
The respective book was initially published in 2008. The new updated edition (270 pages) which was published this year contains most of the developments and events that took place during the elapsed period.
The author, however, has other publications including 4 volumes of novels, and a book about the ancient history of Palestine as well as other works.
During this symposium, Saleh Hawash (a political analyst) engaged in an open dialogue with the author in the presence of several like-minded political figures and media operators.
