Yasser Arafat Foundation is now accepting nominations for the Yasser Arafat Achievement Award 2022. 

The Foundation offers the Yasser Arafat Achievement Award annually to individuals, institutions, or groups in recognition of exceptional contributions in the fields of national, cultural, social, economic or educational work.

The Achievement Award Committee reviews the nominations and selects the Achievement Award winner who receives a certificate, commemorative plaque, and $25,000.

Selection Criteria:

The remarkable achievement contains a number of characteristics and components that contribute to the overall uniqueness of the candidate's work, thus the work is anticipated to be unique and creative, and must have developed a leadership style in the specified subject. the effort put in completing the task should be considered evidence of tenacity and devotion, as well as to have had a major constructive and sustainable influence on a wide scale, which helps society, and it also has public support, particularly among the groups that are directly affected by it.
It is the nominator's responsibility to provide all documents and information that qualify the nominated party, the award committee will only evaluate what it wants and will not take responsibility for fulfilling the deficiencies. 
Based on a careful evaluation of the submitted nominations, the Committee assesses the work and eligibility of the nominated party and prepares a shortlist.  After further evaluation, a final decision is made and the winner of the award is selected. 

Nomination Conditions:

1- Individuals eligible for nomination must be living Palestinian citizens, and nominated institutions or groups must also be based in Palestine.  The nominated parties must present significant contributions to the Palestinian society and the welfare of its people in the five aforementioned fields of work.  Non-Palestinian candidates who made fundamental contributions to Palestine will also be considered.
2- A nominee for the Achievement Award cannot be self-nominated. 
3. Attachment of a complete CV of the individual candidate with a copy of the personal identity or passport. For institutions, identification of their mission, statute, headquarters, registration number, and those in charge of them, and in the case of the assigned work team, details of goals, achievements, and assignments.
4. The nomination must be by an institution or a corporate body approved by the council that represents it.
5. The nominator should have proven expertise and experience in the candidate's field of work.
6. The nomination file shall be attached to a letter from the nominator in which he presents his reasons, indicating the field of nomination and its justifications, as well as a letter from the candidate confirming the acceptance of the nomination and the desire to compete for the award.
7. The nominator is responsible for establishing the proof.
8. Institutions do not nominate themselves for sections of themselves.
9. The nomination is issued by two independent entities (individuals, institutions, or corporate bodies) who confirm that the file has been reviewed and endorsed.
10. Qualified nominators must be Palestinians or Arabs, and the nomination is accepted only by the following parties:
A.  Boards representing institutions or corporate bodies.  
B.  Duly qualified individuals known for their professional reputations.
11. Nominations that are not related to the five fields will not be considered. 
12. Incomplete nominations without the required documents for the Achievement Award will not be considered.  It is advisable to print the written materials and submit them as hard copies. 
13. The closing date for nominations is July 31, 2022.
The Palestinian people – individuals, teams, or institutions constantly carry out remarkable achievements that deserve to be acknowledged.  The Achievement Award encourages all interested candidates or parties to apply for the award. Nominees who were shortlisted in previous years can be nominated again for the award.
