Yasser Arafat Foundation is now accepting nominations for the Yasser Arafat Achievement Award 2020. 
 
The Foundation offers the Yasser Arafat Achievement Award annually to individuals, institutions, or groups in recognition of exceptional contributions in the fields of national, cultural, social, economic or educational work.  The Award consists of a certificate, commemorative plaque, and US$25,000.
Award Nomination Procedures:
1.  A nominee for the Achievement Award may not be self-nominated.
2.  Qualified nominators must be Palestinian or other Arab, and the nomination is accepted only for the following entities:
a.     Boards of institutions or corporations.
b.     Individuals known for their professional reputation.
3.  Eligible individuals must be Palestinian citizens, and institutions or groups must also be based in Palestine. Nominations must demonstrate significant contributions to the welfare of the Palestinian people in the aforementioned fields of work.  Non-Palestinian candidates who have made exceptional contributions to Palestinian society will also be considered. 
4.  Nominations shall be submitted via a special form, which identifies the nominator and the nominee, and provides the necessary contact information.  The form must also include a biography of the nominee, confirmation of the nominees’ acceptance of the nomination, a detailed description and documentation of the nominee’s work and accomplishments that, in the opinion of the nominator, have made the nominee worthy of the award.
5.  The nominator shall also include a paragraph on the justification for the nomination, which may be referred to in the award certificate, should it be granted to the nominee.  This paragraph must be in Arabic and should not exceeding 60 words in length.
6.  Nominees approved by the Awards Committee shall be informed of their inclusion in the list of final nominees.
7.  Nominations must be submitted to the Yasser Arafat Achievement Award Committee before 31 July 2020. Nominations submitted outside this period will not be accepted.  The Committee will formally notify the nominator of the receipt of his or her nomination at the address specified in the nomination form.
