The Foundation organized Yasser Arafat Summer Camps in nine locations around the West Bank for 900 children between the ages of 8 and 13. Under the supervision of more than 100 volunteers, the three-week program included numerous extracurricular activities, such as drama, music, art, and creative writing, among others. A primary objective of the summer camps is to educate the youth on the history and legacy of Yasser Arafat, as well as to reinforce and promote the significance of the Palestinian national culture, and its values of citizenship, democracy and nationalism.
Through a comprehensive program created specifically for Yasser Arafat Summer Camps, children learned the story of Yasser Arafat and the contemporary Palestinian narrative.
Yasser Arafat Foundation organized the summer camps in partnership with nine organizations around the West Bank, including:
• Balata Camp-Nablus, with the Yafa Cultural Center
