2017-03-13

Following the tenth meeting of the Board of Trustees of Yasser Arafat Foundation, a forum was held in Cairo for the third successive year.  The forum was moderated by Amr Moussa, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of YAF, and included presentations by members of the Board of Trustees, including Dr. Ahmad Tibi, Dr. Ghassan Khatib, Ambassador Hussam Zaki, and Dr. Saeb Erekat.  The speakers affirmed the importance of the upcoming Arab Summit in Amman to take a clear and unified stance towards the new U.S. Administration with regard to the two-state solution and settlements, as well as Palestinian national rights.

The speakers also addressed the importance of ending Palestinian division and restoring its political and geographic national unity, on the basis of a comprehensive approach that includes: Hamas ceding control of Gaza, and a full partnership of the Palestinian factions that includes a unified political program with the PLO as the sole, legitimate representative of the Palestinian people.
The presenters also emphasized the need to strengthen the Palestinian position in its Arab and international relations.
