On March 31, 2016, Yasser Arafat Foundation (YAF) organized an Open Day at the Y.W.C.A in Ramallah for Palestinian women fighting cancer in addition to survivors from different areas of the West Bank.  Dr. Ahmad Soboh, Director General of YAF, emphasized the important role of women in the society during his opening speech and promised to provide all the assistance and support needed for women fighting cancer in the future.  
The Open Day began with a series of activities starting with a health awareness lecture presented by a nutritionist who explained the necessary nutrition that could help women fight this disease through food.  It was followed by a singing performance by the Oud player and singer Maher Al-Shafi’i. The day ended with a session on cosmetics facial treatments for women who also gave a brief talk on skincare tips during chemotherapy. 
Gifts were distributed for the participating women as a contribution from different  Palestinian institutions and organizations: Premium Brands (Oasis), Sabaya Blue, Al-Reef Company, V&V, Afrah Express and Fitafe.
