Dr. Ahmed Soboh, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Yasser Arafat Foundation, visited Tunisia for a working trip that will last several days.
During his visit, Dr. Soboh, along with Dr. Ibrahim Al-Rifa'i, a Board member of the Yasser Arafat Foundation in Tunisia, met with His Excellency Hani Al-Fahoum, Ambassador of the State of Palestine to Tunisia, His Excellency Ramy Al-Qudumi, the Deputy Ambassador of Palestine to Tunisia, and several staff members of the Palestinian Embassy in Tunisia.
The delegation laid wreaths on behalf of the Yasser Arafat Foundation at the graves of our martyrs' leaders in the Martyrs' Cemetery in the Hammam Lif area, as well as at the Palestinian Revolution Martyrs' Monument in the Hammam Al-Shat area.
They also placed wreaths at the graves of Tunisia’s martyrs of the Independence War. They were welcomed by a delegation from local and municipal authorities.
The delegation, accompanied by Ambassador Al-Fahoum, Ambassador Al-Qudumi, and several embassy staff, visited the headquarters of the late President Yasser Arafat in Tunisia. They were joined by Mohamed Saleh Ben Issa, Head of the Arab League Center in Tunisia, Dr. Moncef Abed Al-Jalil from the Tunisian Academy "Bayt Al-Hikma," and Sifeddine Al-Darini, Head of the Palestinian Community in Tunisia. They prayed Al-Fatiha for his soul and Dr. Soboh wrote a message in the visitors' book of the “Abu Ammar House,” which was his workplace in the 1980s.
Dr. Soboh emphasized that the spirits of the martyrs give us additional determination to stand firm in the face of the ongoing genocide and to continue our struggle until Palestine is liberated from the brutal occupation, with Jerusalem as its capital.
He also stressed that despite the brutal genocide being waged by the occupation against our people, with its severe losses, the occupation has gained nothing except death, destruction, and the loss of lives. Yet, it is met with the steadfastness and resolve of our people and leadership, who will not let the martyrs' flag fall.
Dr. Soboh expressed his gratitude to the State of Tunisia for its support of the Palestinian revolution and for hosting the remains of Palestinian and Tunisian martyrs on its sacred land.
