The Yasser Arafat Foundation's Board of Directors met for the fifty-fifth time on, Thursday, 11/5/2023, in the presence of those in the homeland and by video with those overseas. Ali Muhanna, Acting Chairman of the Board of Directors, presided over the meeting, which included Dr. Mamdouh Al-Abadi, Chairman of the Foundation's Board of Trustees, Director General of the Foundation, and Director of the Yasser Arafat Museum.
The Council reviewed a report on the Foundation's activities, and programs, particularly the impending launch of the second year of the National Memory Program, "Companions of the Path", and the launch of a wide campaign to promote the announcement of the Yasser Arafat Achievement Award for the current year and the 17th year in a row. As well as, the end of the National Knowledge Competition for the 6th year in a row, and developing plans to launch the Yasser Arafat summer camps for the 7th year in a row.
The Board also reviewed a report on the Yasser Arafat Museum's growth and the large return of visitors, as well as the current 10th exhibition, "about settler colonial activities, "Displacement".
The Board paid tribute to the founding president, Yasser Arafat, and the spirits of the martyrs in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, as well as the valiant prisoners, particularly the ill, youngsters, and hunger strikers. It also honored the heroes of resistance and defiance in Jenin, Nablus, Jerusalem, and all our occupied land.
