Dr. Nasser Al-Kidwa, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Yasser Arafat Foundation and Mrs. Khalil Al-Wazir (Um Jihad), Chairman of the Museum Committee and Member of the Board of Yasser Arafat Foundation, officially opened the exhibition, Guardians of Our Eternal Flame, on Sunday, July 7, 2019.  Among the dignitaries who attended the opening were members of the Executive Committee of the PLO, Hanan Ashrawi, Saleh Raafat, Minister of Culture Dr. Atef Abu Seif, members of the Yasser Arafat Foundation Board, along with other political, cultural and media figures.

This exhibition is distinguished by its presentation of the works of female artists – who are, of course, the most knowledgeable of the role, concerns and ambitions of women.

Twelve Palestinian female artists participated in the exhibition, as well as a daughter of the occupied Syrian Golan Heights who lives between Ramallah and Majdal Shams.
The exhibition recognizes Palestinian women and promotes their role in Palestinian life and the people's journey for freedom and national independence and in support of their struggle to achieve their full rights. 

Guardians of Our Eternal Flame is the sixth special exhibition museum of the Yasser Arafat Museum, following Our Country Is Our Country; Uprising; Poster; Uprooting; and Assassination.

The exhibition will remain open until 8 December 2019.
