The Yasser Arafat Achievement Award Committee convened on Tuesday, 11 August 2026, under the chairmanship of Dr. Ahmad Soboh, Chairman of the Committee and Head of the Foundation’s Board of Directors. The meeting served to follow up on the procedures dedicated to studying and evaluating submitted proposals, with a particular focus on initiatives that support and strengthen steadfastness.

This aligns with an extraordinary decision by the Yasser Arafat Foundation to grant the award to institutions or individuals actively reinforcing the Palestinian people's resilience and enduring presence on their land. The committee will continue holding a series of evaluative sessions to assess nominees and proposals in accordance with the regulations and criteria established by the award's charter. The recipient will be announced during the upcoming commemorations marking the 22nd anniversary of the martyrdom of the founding President, Yasser Arafat. The meeting was attended by the majority of committee members, alongside the Foundation's Director-General, Dr. Owdeh Mashariqa.
