The Yasser Arafat Foundation welcomed a delegation from the Media and Public Relations Department of the Palestinian National Security Forces, headed by Colonel Tareq Taqatqa, on Tuesday, April 7, 2026. During the meeting, Director General Dr. Owda Musharqa affirmed that the Foundation is dedicated to preserving the legacy and journey of Yasser Arafat and documenting the history of the Palestinian cause. He outlined the Foundation’s vision, mission, and year-round programs, including the annual commemoration of the founding president’s passing, the Yasser Arafat Museum, and awards for achievement as well as research and studies.
Musharqa stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation with the National Security Forces to enhance Palestinian national identity and safeguard the heritage of the national movement and struggle led by Arafat and his companions, while also highlighting the Forces’ vital role nationwide. He additionally presented the delegation with a selection of the Foundation’s audiovisual and written publications, including documentaries and books.
For his part, Colonel Taqatqa expressed appreciation for the warm reception and commended the Foundation’s efforts in preserving Arafat’s legacy. He emphasized the importance of continued joint cooperation in serving the nation and its citizens and in maintaining social cohesion. The meeting was attended by Faris Saqr, Director of Media and Public Relations at the Foundation, along with several officers from the National Security Forces.
