A delegation from the Yasser Arafat Foundation, led by its Director General Dr. Awda Mashareqa, visited the Qamat Foundation for Documenting the Palestinian Struggle at its headquarters in Al-Bireh on Tuesday, October 21, 2025. The visit came as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen cooperation between the two institutions. The delegation was welcomed by Anas Al-Ashta, Chairman of the Qamat Foundation.
Dr. Mashareqa emphasized that the core mission of the Yasser Arafat Foundation is to preserve and commemorate the legacy and life of the founding leader, Yasser Arafat, safeguarding his moral and historical heritage.
He reviewed the foundation’s key programs and initiatives, including the Yasser Arafat Memorial Day, the Yasser Arafat Achievement Award, the Yasser Arafat Research and Studies Award, the National Knowledge Competition, Yasser Arafat Summer Camps, and the Yasser Arafat Archive and Products, as well as the program “From the National Memory... Companions of the Path.”
For his part, Al-Ashta highlighted the importance of joint coordination and partnership with the Yasser Arafat Foundation in activities of shared interest, particularly in preserving the archives of President Arafat and other national figures.
He explained that the Qamat Foundation focuses on documenting the Palestinian struggle through documentary films, aiming to safeguard the heritage of resistance and provide younger generations with a window into the history and experiences of the Palestinian revolution.
The meeting was also attended by Fares Saqr, Director of Media and Public Relations at the Yasser Arafat Foundation, and from Qamat Foundation, Thaer Thabet, Deputy Chairman, and Ahmad Talaat, a board member.
