Yasser Arafat Foundation Mourns the Passing of Board of Trustees Member Mohamed Benjelloun El-Andalussi

The Yasser Arafat Foundation, represented by its Board of Trustees, Board of Directors, management, and all staff, mourns the passing of its esteemed Board of Trustees member, Mohamed Benjelloun El-Andalussi, who passed away on the evening of Sunday, July 6, 2025, in the Moroccan capital, Rabat.

The Foundation extends its heartfelt condolences to his honourable family, relatives, friends, admirers, and to the brotherly people of Morocco, praying to God to grant him His vast mercy, welcome him into His eternal paradise, and bestow patience and solace upon his family and loved ones.

About Mohamed Benjelloun El-Andalussi:

Born in Fez, Morocco in 1945.

Graduated from the École Normale Supérieure and the Faculty of Arts and Humanities in 1966.

A prominent figure in the Istiqlal Party and its union branch, the General Union of Moroccan Workers, where he joined the party’s central committee in 1978.

Served on the executive committee of the Istiqlal Party in both 1998 and 2002.

Active member of the Moroccan Association for Supporting the Struggle of the Palestinian People since 1978, and elected President of the association in 2002.

Elected Secretary General of the General Union of Moroccan Workers during the extraordinary congress held in Casablanca on January 24, 2006.

Became a member of the executive board of the World Trade Union Federation in October 2006.
