The Board of Directors of the Yasser Arafat Foundation held its 62nd meeting on December 30, 2024, with in-person participation for those residing in Palestine and virtual attendance for those abroad. The meeting was chaired by Dr. Ahmed Soboh, with the participation of Dr. Mamdouh Al-Abadi, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Dr. Owda Masharqa, the General Director, and Mohammed Hlaika, the Museum Director, at the Yasser Arafat Museum in Ramallah.
At the start of the meeting, a moment of silence was observed, followed by the recitation of Al-Fatiha for the soul of the founding president Yasser Arafat and for the martyrs in Gaza and the West Bank. The attendees also sent their greetings to the heroic prisoners who are enduring brutal treatment, and prayed for the alleviation of the suffering of our people in Gaza.
The board addressed the ongoing massacres, killings, destruction, and starvation in Gaza, which have persisted for 451 days, and the escalation of violence in the West Bank.
The board was briefed on the progress of the foundation's work and its programs in 2024. Various issues and matters related to the foundation's activities were discussed, and decisions were made accordingly.
The board also reviewed the outcomes of the consultative meeting held by the foundation’s management with its employees on December 9, 2024. A detailed action plan for the foundation’s activities and events in 2025 was approved.
