Dr. Ahmad Soboh, Chairman of the Yasser Arafat Foundation, sent a congratulatory message today, October 1, 2024, on behalf of the Board of Trustees and the administration of the Yasser Arafat Foundation, to Ms. Naledi Pandor on her selection as Chairperson of the Nelson Mandela Foundation, wishing her success in her new role.

Dr. Soboh expressed gratitude and appreciation for Ms. Pandor's principled and courageous stances in defending rights and justice, as well as her representation of the honorable position of the Republic of South Africa in filing a lawsuit against Israeli occupation, for committing genocide in Gaza, during her tenure as Minister of Foreign Affairs in the South African government.

He also thanked her for her positions regarding the Palestinian cause and the peace process, her support for the rights of the Palestinian people, and her rejection and condemnation of the aggressive policies and measures taken by the Israeli occupation, along with her efforts to find a just, comprehensive, and lasting solution to the Palestinian issue.

It is worth mentioning that the Yasser Arafat Foundation signed a cooperation agreement with the Nelson Mandela Foundation, and there were mutual visits in 2018 and 2019. The Arafat Foundation looks forward to strengthening cooperation and partnership between the two institutions.
