- He was born in 1956 in Qena Governorate, Arab Republic of Egypt.
- He graduated from Assiut University with a BA in Arts and Education and a Postgraduate Certificate in Political Systems from Zagazig University.

- In 2003, he was chosen as the first Arab person to speak at the Arab Forum in Beirut, in the presence of Arab and Lebanese political parties and unions.
- At the poll conducted by the Center for Information and Decision-Making at Egypt's Council of Ministers, he received the title of best deputy for the 2005-2010 parliamentary session.
